    Unhappy

I've had a code 1 on my car since for sometime now and I thought that it was a bad O2 sensor.

Well today we replaced the O2 sensor on the car and the CEL is STILL on with a code one. My setup is the following. J&S Ultra with monitor, JRSC w/8# pulley.

Is there anyone that I can go to near LA. that I can take the car to in order to have it completely fixed or repaired to solve this problem? I'm at a point where I want to get this fiexd and I will pay to have someone clear this Code One from the car. frown

I can't even plug the O2 sensor cause the car runs like ?ss. I have to unplug it in order for me not to end up at the pumps every other day. I am serisously stuck without a CLUE as to what is wrong with the car!?!! mad

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers!

what is the ultra monitor showing you as far as A/F ratio when its hooked up? maybe try disconnecting /unsoldering the J&S from the o2 line and see if it runs better. it really sounds like a wiring problem.

It's showing me that the mixture is at lean. I guess that I will disconnect it from the ECU tomorrow to see what it does.

Another problem that I am seeing is that the monitor doesn't work when the plug is inserted all the way in. It only works when the plug is 3/4 of the way in??? mad

At this point I am ready to drive 12 hours to someplace that can fix this problem. I am really getting tired of this crap. mad

    Jay,

Check the continuity of all FOUR wires from the O2 sensor back to the ECU... if any of them do not tone out, then re-run new wires to the O2 sensor. If you do in fact get good tone, then check any electronic "gizmos" that are teed into the O2 signal wire, such as your J&S, gauges, etc. You may disconnect them to see if the problem quits.
Also, if you have an OBD-1 car... this could be a totally different (un-related) problem, so check ALL wiring at your "gizmos" to make sure every connection is satisfactory.

If it still kicks your ass... I am only about six hours away !!!

    LOL

    Well,

I will check the continuity on the wires either tomorrow or on monday. The only thing that is hooked up to the O2 signal wires at the ECU is the J&S monitor.

If either one of those two things don't work I think that you'll be seeing me in B'Ham VERY soon.

    Cheers.
